Is there gossip about your character Byerly should know? If his family did ever come up—which is plausible, since his father Petros was a Nevarran noble and his mother Valaria's brother, Amancio Vivas, is one of Antiva's Merchant Princes, but also plausible that they never did, because who cares about Nevarra and Antiva—he'd at most have been one item in a list of horrible scandalous tragedies befalling the Averesches. Dead daughter, one son in a Circle, the other an exiled assassin, the family had been in decline anyway but this is probably the end of their line, how sad, etc.
Can he bring this up in private conversation with your character? Sure.
Can he bring this up publicly? Sure.
Is there anything about your character that would be listed in intelligence reports? Likely nothing that isn't on his info page already, except potentially more awareness of the fact that he was never in Redcliffe with the rest of the Mage Rebellion and showed up at the Inquisition's door well after the mages as an entity had been recruited.

Would you be open to Byerly blackmailing your character? Sure.
Would you be open to Byerly deceiving your character and tricking them into acting against Inquisition interests/their own interests? Sure.
Would you be open to Byerly drugging and/or interrogating your character? Sure.
Would you be open to Byerly uncovering new information about your character's past/present? Someone would probably need a reason to care/dig into Circle stuff, but sure. Finding out anything from the war would involve other characters so probably no go on that unless we all coordinate.
Is your character interested in espionage/engaged in espionage? Kiiiind of. Not Byerly's kind, but he's in the Scouting Division because he elbowed his way into magic-spying instead of combat and has been working for the Inquisition in that capacity for a couple years now, he's "advising" the Scoutmaster, and the project he's overseeing is pretty sneaky.
Could they be cultivated into an intelligence asset for Ferelden - e.g., seduced and/or bribed into giving information willingly? If he somehow had something relevant, maybe.
Is there anything else I should know? I still love you.
