Byerly is a spy. This means two things: (1) he has access to more information than the average new character; (2) he may act in devious and underhanded ways against current PCs and NPCs. I do not do not want to overstep any bounds with this. Please fill out the permissions post below. If you do not fill it out, then I will assume all questions below are a blanket "no."




<b>Is there gossip about your character Byerly should know?</b> Byerly has an encyclopedic knowledge of gossip that would be circulated in Ferelden high society. He also most likely knows any gossip that has been circulated in Orlesian high society. He also plausibly might have heard things from the courts of the Northern nations. If there's anything about your character that might have reached his ear (beyond what's listed on your info page), please put it here. <b>Can he bring this up in private conversation with your character?</b> <b>Can he bring this up publicly?</b> <b>Is there anything about your character that would be listed in intelligence reports?</b> Ferelden intelligence keeps reports on members of the Inquisition. (Note that Ferelden intelligence isn't super-sophisticated yet; they would not have access to all your character's secrets. You can pick and choose which ones you want to be known.) Byerly would have read these reports before coming to the Inquisition. Is there gossip about your character Byerly should know? Crazy asshole who beats up elves and mages, used to be a Templar, gives them all a bad name. Related to the Harimanns who tried to overthrow Starkhaven?

Is there anything about your character that would be listed in intelligence reports? Known mostly to the Inquisition is that he's an absolute disaster who has been kicked out of the Templar Order for losing his shit and assaulting someone. Kirkwall at large might recognize him as one of its Templars from before the war, and he served directly under Knight-Commander Meredith.
He is in fact related to The Harimanns, but not in his immediate family, and his own family tries to keep it quiet because they're embarrassed.

Is your character interested in espionage/engaged in espionage? No, he can't lie his way out of a paper bag

Could they be cultivated into an intelligence asset for Ferelden - e.g., seduced and/or bribed into giving information willingly? Probably not, mainly because I doubt he'd be too useful at it
